YG Accused of Paying Journalists to Write Negative Articles About Jennie’s Vaping Controversy

In recent weeks, BLACKPINK Jennie has been at the center of attention due to controversies surrounding her vaping and poor attitude. She received significant backlash from netizens and faced the potential consequences of a fine. As a result, Jennie promptly issued an apology and took time to reflect on her actions.

Despite YG Entertainment’s denial, there were rumors circulating among fans that the company had hired 3 journalists to write negative articles about Jennie’s vaping controversy. These speculations gained traction on various online communities and X (formerly known as Twitter), leading many loyal fans of Jennie to criticize YG for their mistreatment of the female idol.

The suspicion sparked a heated discussion on social media as many people speculated that YG may have intended to harm Jennie after her departure from the company. This belief was further fueled by the fact that several other celebrities, including Lee Seung-gi and Han Ye-seul, also faced scandals and negative publicity after leaving their respective agencies.

Despite the lack of evidence, many netizens argue that it is unreasonable for Jennie’s fans to place blame on YG, claiming that the agency paid journalists to write articles. As the current CEO of ODD ATELIER (OA), Jennie holds responsibility for not removing the vaping scene from her Vlog before uploading it to YouTube. This attempt by her fans to defend her by shifting blame to the editor, other idols, and her previous agency has ultimately affected Jennie’s public image.

On July 8th, Jennie sparked a controversy when she was seen using what appeared to be an e-cigarette in her own YouTube Vlog. During her makeup session before the Jacquemus show in Italy, the BLACKPINK member put the object in her mouth and even blew smoke towards her makeup staff.

Despite Jennie’s team deleting the controversial scene immediately after it caused controversy, it had already garnered significant attention. Along with the issue of indoor smoking, many also condemned Jennie’s actions as a misuse of power. Despite OA releasing an official apology, the scandal continued to remain heated.
