Yesterday, it was revealed that YG Entertainment had successfully renewed the contract with only one of the four members of BLACKPINK. Today there is news that the new girl group BABYMONSTER, which was originally planned to be launched in September, may not be able to debut as scheduled, making YG’s stock price even worse.

In May this year, YG announced that BABYMONSTER’s final debut group would be changed from 5 to 7 members (Ruka, Pharita, ASA, Ahyeon, Haram, Rora and Chiquita), promising that the debut would not take place beyond this fall. In July, he also stated that the debut plan is in rapid progress and is stepping up post-production such as choreography and MV with the goal of releasing it in September.

During this period, BABYMONSTER’s YouTube channel had 3.11 million subscribers, and the debut song “DREAM”also exceeded 50 million views. However, as September was coming to an end, there was no follow-up news from YG.

According to Korean media today, BABYMONSTER’s debut plan is being actively promoted under the command of Yang Hyun Suk, and a special working team has been formed. However, the specific debut time is still unknown: it was originally planned to be within this month, but the debut time was postponed in pursuit of a higher degree of completion. It is reported that the debut song has a strong Hip-Hop style, and YG staff are going all out to produce the song, working harder than ever before.

This is not the first time that YG has postponed the debut of an artist. WINNER, iKON, and TREASURE have had similar experiences before, with their debuts being delayed by months or even a year later than expected.

However, YG’s stock price is still inevitably on a downward trend. Yesterday, there was news that YG had trouble renewing its contract with its signature girl group BLACKPINK. Among the four members, only Rose successfully renewed her contract, and the other popular members Lisa, Jennie, and Jisoo all left. Although YG immediately stated that it was still under negotiation and had not yet been determined, the stock price plummeted 13.28% in one day, and continued to fall 4.05% today, closing at 66,400 won.
