Despite being a former member of the popular K-pop boy group Highlight, Yong Jun-hyung has recently addressed the ongoing rumors surrounding his potential involvement in an illegal camera footage scandal.
On June 12, Yong Jun-hyung shared a sincere post on social media, where he addressed the longstanding accusations against him. He provided his perspective and gave a glimpse into the turbulent time that ultimately resulted in his departure from Highlight.
Yong Jun-hyung made it clear that he had no direct involvement in the controversial group chat where the inappropriate footage was circulated. He explained that although he did receive a video on his personal messenger, he was not aware of its contents until he watched it.
“I had no involvement in that group chat or the scandal that unfolded,”Yong Jun-hyung emphasized, distancing himself from the reprehensible actions of others implicated in the controversy.
He conveyed his frustration over being falsely linked to the scandal, bemoaning the negative consequences on his personal and professional image.
“For years, there have been numerous mentions of me in the media and beyond, that I was part of the scandal, that I was in the group chat, and that I consumed those videos,”he lamented, highlighting the pervasive nature of the false allegations.
Yong Jun-hyung showed a moment of deep inner thought as he accepted his previous errors and vowed to work towards personal development and maturity. He pledged to regularly reflect on his behavior, determined to become a better person.
“I’ll endure it. But please, I sincerely hope that no harm comes to the people in my life I love and treasure, including my family and fans who root for me,”Yong Jun-hyung expressed, demonstrating his concern for those closest to him amidst the tumultuous ordeal.
Despite facing the aftermath of the scandal, Yong Jun-hyung remains resolute in overcoming adversity and paving a positive path for himself.
