Yoo Ah-in made an appearance at the 6th trial for allegedly violating the Narcotics Control Act at the Criminal Division 25-1 of the Seoul Central District Court on June 18th, one month after the 5th trial in May.
At 2 p.m. today, Yoo Ah-in arrived at the court wearing a black long-sleeved suit, despite the hot weather. He entered the court without making any statements.
During the 6th trial, the psychiatric treatment doctor of Yoo Ah-in, who was not present during the 5th trial, appeared as a witness to be cross-examined.
In the meantime, Yoo Ah-in has been accused of administering propofol 181 times between September 2020 and March of the following year. Additionally, he is accused of receiving illegal prescriptions for 1100 sleeping pills in someone else’s name on 44 occasions between May 2021 and August of the same year.
Furthermore, the actor is under suspicion of engaging in marijuana use while in the US with four accomplices, including a friend named Choi. It is alleged that the actor also encouraged a witness to partake in smoking marijuana during their time together.
According to prosecutors, Yoo Ah-in is suspected of having used more than 7 different types of drugs. However, the actor has denied most of the allegations, admitting only to smoking marijuana and using propofol. He clarified, “Certain details have been exaggerated and are not entirely accurate.”
At the fifth hearing last month, Doctor Oh, who prescribed medication for Yoo Ah-in, was interrogated. During the hearing, the doctor maintained that he had prescribed the medication based on Yoo Ah-in’s symptoms of anxiety and his desire to end his life.
