Yoo Ah-in’s Fanclub Shows Support at 6th Trial with Submitted Petition to Court

The 6th trial for Yoo Ah-in and his friend Choi, accused of violating the Narcotics Control Act, was held by the Criminal Agreement Division 25 of Seoul Central District in Seocho-gu, Seoul on June 18th at 2 p.m. Yoo Ah-in’s doctor, Hwang, who was absent from the previous trial, appeared as a witness during the proceedings.

The court revealed that a petition regarding the trial of Yoo Ah-in had been submitted, stating, “We received a petition and I believe it’s from your fans,”at the conclusion of the trial.

Despite the 6th trial of the actor, fans of Yoo Ah-in remained dedicated and showed their support by directly applying for the right to attend. Even after the trial, they continued to express their affection for him, standing along the road to his car and cheering him on with waves.

During both his 4th and 5th trials, Yoo Ah-in’s supporters showed up to show their support. For the 4th trial, they wore hats and masks to conceal their identities and held up signs and banners with encouraging messages like “Stay strong, everything will be alright”and “We stand by Ah-in”.

During the 5th trial last month, a group of fans gave Yoo Ah-in a large shopping bag along with a letter, expressing their appreciation. Yoo Ah-in gratefully accepted the gifts, bowing his head in thanks. As he returned to his car, the fans cheered him on, shouting encouraging phrases like “Eat well”and “Hakuna Matata”, which translates to “letting go of all worries”in Swahili.

The upcoming trial is scheduled for 2 p.m. on July 24th.

In October of last year, Yoo Ah-in was indicted without being taken into custody for consistently administering propofol, unlawfully obtaining sleeping pills under a different name, using marijuana, directing someone else to use drugs, and destroying evidence. Yoo Ah-in’s friend Choi was also accused of using marijuana.

The prosecutors claimed that Yoo Ah-in had been administered propofol 181 times at hospitals in Seoul between September 2020 and March 2022. They also alleged that he had obtained illegal prescriptions for sleeping pills 44 times between May 2021 and August 2022, using a different person’s name. Despite the police’s request for an arrest warrant, the court rejected it.

In the first trial held in December last year, Yoo Ah-in admitted to smoking marijuana but denied other allegations. He argued that certain parts of the accusations were exaggerated.
