According to sources close to the family, on August 7th, Mr. Uhm Young-in, father of actor Yoo Ah-in, passed away after a long battle with illness. He was 67 years old at the time of his passing.
According to a source in the entertainment industry, Yoo Ah-in’s father had been struggling with a long-standing illness. The source also mentioned that his condition had recently deteriorated. As a result, Yoo Ah-in is currently at the funeral hall to pay his respects to his father following the heartbreaking news.
The funeral service for Yoo Ah-in’s father will take place at the funeral hall of DCMC Daegu Catholic University Hospital. The coffin will be carried out at 9:30 a.m. on August 9th and he will be laid to rest at Myeongbok Park.
In 2019, Yoo Ah-in made an appearance on a KBS 1TV show where he openly shared his fondness for his father.
He once shared, “At the age of 17, I moved to Seoul and began my acting career. Since then, I have been living for myself, trying to carve my own path and establish my presence in the world. Despite this, I have always been a mama’s boy. Whenever I was asked who I preferred, I never chose ‘Dad’ as my answer.”He continued, “Recently, I have started to reflect on my relationship with my father. I made the first move and called him, discussing various topics. I even expressed my love for him, something I had never done since becoming an adult. I couldn’t help but feel a bit embarrassed.”
