Yoo Ah-in’s House Sold for ₩6.3 Billion to a 7-Year-Old: “Paid Fully in Cash”

On December 26, Biz Hankook revealed that a notable real estate transaction had taken place involving a detached house in Itaewon, which was formerly owned by Yoo Ah-in. The ownership of the property was officially transferred on December 19, with an unexpected twist: the buyer is a seven-year-old child, born in July 2017. Remarkably, the full purchase price of ₩6.3 billion was paid entirely in cash without any financing.

The house, previously showcased on MBC’s popular variety show “I Live Alone,” has garnered attention not only for its substantial sale price but also for its young buyer. The family name of the buyer is indicated to be “Park,” and the child is believed to be the offspring of Park Hwa-mok, the CEO of Piece Peace Studio, and designer Lee Soo-hyun. Notably, the address registered for this ownership transfer coincides with the residence of CEO Park and his spouse. Experts in real estate speculate that the overall financial commitment associated with this purchase, including potential gift taxes and other related expenses, could surpass ₩10 billion, particularly in light of the child’s status as a minor and their consequent financial limitations.

Insiders from the fashion industry speculate that the Park family may have plans to utilize the property for business purposes, potentially converting it into an office space or retail outlet.

In the midst of this property transaction, Yoo Ah-in is grappling with serious legal troubles. He faces multiple charges, including having used propofol on 181 separate occasions between September 2020 and March of the previous year. Additionally, he allegedly acquired 44 doses of sleeping pills unlawfully under another person’s name from May 2021 to August of the same year. Furthermore, he is accused of trying to destroy evidence and pressuring acquaintances into consuming marijuana. In his initial trial, Yoo Ah-in received a one-year prison sentence, was fined ₩2 million, ordered to complete 80 hours of drug rehabilitation education, and required to forfeit approximately ₩1.5 million.

On December 24, during his second trial, he was handed a more severe sentence of four years in prison. During this session, Yoo Ah-in expressed remorse, stating, “I vow before the public and swear in this sacred courtroom not to forget the gravity of the law and to never repeat my foolishness.”
