On May 20, 2024, the tenth chapter of Boruto Two Blue Vortex was published. The chapter featured Himawari as the upcoming Jinchuriki of Kurama, as she unleashed her Nine-tails form when Jura attempted to harm Inojin in her presence.
Despite the protagonist’s shock after his karma was awakened through resonance with Kawaki, the chapter did not focus much on him. Instead, it gave Sarada a chance to shine as she faced off against Hidari and displayed her training.
Despite expectations, the protagonist was not chosen as the next jinchuriki of Kurama, which did not come as a shock. However, the fandom was not happy with Himawari being chosen instead, as they had hoped for the protagonist to inherit the Tailed Beast. This could potentially be due to a general dislike of the series and a lack of appreciation for unconventional choices.
Please note: The following article includes possible spoilers from the Boruto Two Blue Vortex manga series and reflects the views of the author.
Reactions to Himawari obtaining Kurama in Boruto Two Blue Vortex
The events in chapter 10 of Boruto Two Blue Vortex begin with Jura and Hidari separating, with Jura pursuing Himawari and Hidari facing off against Konohamaru’s troops who had arrived in response to a disturbance. While Hidari was conversing with Konohamaru, Sarada suddenly appeared and was immediately targeted by the God Tree.
Thankfully, thanks to Sarada’s sharingan, she was able to anticipate and evade Hidari’s unexpected attack. Meanwhile, the main character was deeply disturbed by the possibility of Momoshiki’s karma taking control of his body.
Jura had arrived at Team 10, where they were carrying Himawari. She remained still while conversing with Kurama, who revealed that he was unaware of how he had been reincarnated inside her. However, he urged her to come to terms with the truth and join the battle against the God Trees.
Despite Jura impaling Team 10 and capturing Himawari, Inojin continued to fight him. Tragically, Inojin was fatally wounded by Jura. However, Himawari’s eyes revealed her awakening of her Kurama form, much to the surprise of everyone. Despite this, Kurama failed to give a satisfactory explanation for why Himawari inherited him instead of the protagonist, causing disappointment among fans.
Nevertheless, the source of the hate may be attributed to haters not giving enough attention to the chapter and failing to recognize any positive aspects of the series. It is possible that there are valid justifications for the hate, as readers hold diverse opinions on the subject.
Fan Reactions to Himawari as the Jinchuriki of Kurama
While Kurama did advise Himawari to embrace her role as his Jinchuriki, he also acknowledged that her mixed heritage (Uzumaki and Hyuga) may have played a role in her becoming the host of the Nine-tails.
Earlier, a panel before the one that was taken by user X (@bibi_king10) and seen by numerous fans on the internet, stated that Kurama accepted the current situation possibly because he is anticipating further clarification about his reincarnation within Himawari.
Additionally, a fan pointed out that those who dislike the series tend to criticize every aspect of it without actually reading it. They expressed that these individuals refuse to comprehend or acknowledge the series simply because of their hatred towards Boruto.
“This has been explained numerous times including a couple of panels prior. Yall just willfully choose to not comprehend because you simply hate Boruto.”a fan said.
“The panels that are literally right before this.”another fan said.
“Have you not read the whole chapter?”another one asked.
Conversely, a different faction of the community expressed their disdain for the series, arguing that it should never be held to high expectations for its writing. In fact, some went as far as to suggest that the author, Masashi Kishimoto, should retire. There were even fans who claimed that a certain aspect, previously mentioned in a previous panel, was enough to deem the series incapable of being good.
“You’re reading boruto and expecting good writing?”a fan said.
“Kishimoto my bro it’s time for you to take retirement,”another one said.
“Yep and that’s exactly why ts terrible,”another fan said.
Concluding Remarks
Upon Himawari’s activation of her Nine-tail chakra, her hair became similar in appearance to Kushina’s, providing another explanation for why a woman received Kurama instead of the main character. It should be noted that Himawari is the granddaughter of Kushina, who was also a Jinchuriki for the Nine-tails.
The Two Blue Vortex serves as a redemption series for the original Boruto, as it elevates the story to a new level and provides a more varied plot compared to the original. It is recommended to not disregard the series.
