CBS recently released a new teaser for Young Sheldon prior to this week’s episodes, causing some fans to believe that it confirms George’s survival instead of his death.

Leading up to the Season 7 finale, Young Sheldon has released a new teaser for Episode 12, which marks the start of back-to-back episodes. Some viewers speculate that George may not actually die, suggesting that the upcoming funeral could be a clever misdirection.

In the clip from Young Sheldon, George and Mary gather the family for dinner to announce George’s big news: he has received a job offer to coach at Rice University. Wanting to gauge the family’s thoughts on the potential move to Houston, he asks the Coopers for their opinions on the matter.

Missy appears to be extremely excited about the opportunity to become the new girl in a place with shopping centers and a Six Flags amusement park. However, Mandy does not share the same level of enthusiasm as she is hesitant about losing their current babysitters. Connie reassures Mandy that she will not be leaving them.

One Instagram user replied, “Considering this, is there a chance that George won’t die after all?”They suggested that George’s death could be written into the new show featuring Georgie and Mandy, and that the rest of the family could move to Houston while Sheldon attends college. This would leave only Mandy, Georgie, and Meemaw in the original show, which would align better with their new storylines.

Another comment suggested, “Let’s imagine this is a parallel universe where he survives and accomplishes all of his dreams.”

According to a Reddit post, it was suggested that the funeral episode in “Young Sheldon”may not be for George, but for a minor character like Dale. It is speculated that in the “Memoir”episode, Sheldon talks about losing his father soon after the funeral. It is preferred for this event to be mentioned but not depicted.

Despite the new clip disproving the Young Sheldon theory of George following Sheldon to Caltech for his new role, there remains uncertainty surrounding his fate. The upcoming episode, titled ‘Funeral,’ has many cast members dressed in black and hints at George’s possible death. Fans have been aware of this since The Big Bang Theory, where Sheldon mentions that his father passed away when he was 14, which coincides with his age in Season 7.
