The Young Sheldon series will come to an end in the seventh and final season: in which episode does George die? Here is all you need to know.
It’s a hard blow for fans since the announcement, and yet we will have to get used to it: season 7 of Young Sheldon will also be the last. And this, even if there are still many intrigues to pursue and close.
The spin-off series has not failed to animate the community, which hastened to publish numerous theories on the Internet: from Mary cheating on George to a redemption arc for Missy after the Cooper family suffers the consequences of a violent tornado, all subjects are good to be discussed on social networks.
But the narrative arc that shakes the web the most concerns one character in particular: George, who is not among the members still alive in the original series The Big Bang Theory. In which episode does the patriarch die?
Young Sheldon: In which episode does George die?
While season 6 is already out and audiences are waiting for the seventh, George Cooper Sr is still alive in Young Sheldon – but fans expect the character to disappear in season 7.
Thanks to the original plot of The Big Bang Theory, we know that the death of Sheldon’s father is an inevitable conclusion. In the main series, fans learn that Sheldon lost his father when he was just 14 years old. An age which precisely corresponds to that of the character in the spin-off.
For many, the major event should mark the end of the spin-off series, becoming the subject of Young Sheldon’s grand finale, the announced duration of which is one hour.
On Reddit, the subject is still the subject of debate in a dedicated thread: “It’s no secret, George is supposed to meet an untimely end in season 7, but is that really going to happen 100%? His death was basically confirmed by one of the cast, but will it happen in season 7 or later (if there is even a new season after season 7)?
And where some wonder if it would be wise to show how the father of the family is torn from his family, especially after the trying finale of season 6, other fans insist. For them, this turnaround should not be given up on Young Sheldon: “No, I hope they have the guts and actually do it. We must remain faithful to the canon.” To which another user added: “He must die. It’s sad, but there’s no escape.”
A final solution would be to place the finale before Sheldon Cooper’s 15th birthday. In this way, the canon would be respected, and Young Sheldon fans spared…
