The title for the sequel to Young Sheldon has been officially announced, but certain fans believe it may offer insight into the potential future of Georgie and Mandy.
The title for the Young Sheldon sequel, officially revealed as Georgie and Mandy’s First Marriage, has caused speculation among fans as it suggests the possibility of multiple marriages between the pair. Filming for the highly anticipated sequel is set to begin in July.
Fans have already witnessed the wedding of the couple in Young Sheldon Season 7 Episode 7, where they were already taking care of their daughter Cece before getting married. Actors Montana Jordan and Emily Osment both revealed the title on social media, leading some to speculate if this title hints at future marriages in the show.
“One Instagram user replied, questioning if Georgie and Mandy were getting married for the first time. They asked if this meant that Georgie’s second marriage would also be to Mandy.”
“Is this Georgie’s first marriage?”another person asked. “I remember hearing that Georgie was married multiple times, perhaps Mandy arrived later after the previous marriages,”someone else chimed in.
Despite having a history of multiple ex-girlfriends and ex-wives, Georgie is reunited with his brother as a single man in Season 11 of The Big Bang Theory. In the finale, when Sheldon wins a Nobel prize, he mentions that two of Georgie’s former wives reached out to congratulate him.
Despite the immense popularity of Georgie and Mandy as a couple, there is a strong desire among fans for them to be endgame, which further supports the first marriage theory. This isn’t just a wishful thinking from viewers, as evidenced by the outrage sparked by the multicam filming of the Young Sheldon sequel, even from Osment herself.
“In response to a question about the storyline by TV Line, Emily Osment clarified that she hopes her character, Mandy, can be both the ex-wife and new wife. She points out that it is not uncommon for people to divorce and then remarry, so why can’t Mandy have both experiences?”
Georgie and Mandy’s First Marriage is set to premiere on CBS in the upcoming fall season. While an official release date has not yet been announced, the Young Sheldon sequel will still be airing on Thursdays.
