Young Sheldon Star Shares Heartbreaking Plea After Suffering Shocking Injury

The beloved and sassy grandma from Young Sheldon has a warning for you – do not drink and drive, and please send her well wishes as she prepares for her upcoming surgery.

Despite the emotional ending of Young Sheldon Season 7, which included George’s death, the drama has not stopped for some of the cast members off-screen.

This week, the focus is on Annie Potts, known for her role as Meemaw in The Big Bang Theory prequel. In a candid post on both TikTok and Instagram, she shared that she will be undergoing her 26th surgery after being involved in an accident caused by drunk drivers.

In a heartfelt video, Potts shared: “I wanted to ask for your thoughts as I prepare for surgery tomorrow to replace one of my knees. It would mean a lot to have your support during this time.”

“This is my 25th or 26th surgery, I’m not entirely sure anymore. 50 years back, I was hit by drunk teenagers who were racing on the wrong side of the road. The impact broke every bone below my waist except for one, and this injury has already been replaced once.”

Potts concludes her emotional appeal by stating, “For the past 50 years, I have been struggling to piece myself back together… and if you ever see Meemaw walking with a limp, it’s because I walk with one too – all because of someone’s poor decision.”

“While enjoying your summer festivities, please refrain from drinking and driving as it can potentially harm someone.”

Young Sheldon viewers wasted no time in filling the comments section with heartfelt tributes, including one individual who wrote, “Oh no, not Meemaw!”

Two others chimed in, “Meemaw, you will be okay, amen!”and “I hope everything will be alright, Meemaw!”

On Instagram, several familiar faces have sent their well wishes, including her fictional grandchildren, Sheldon and Missy.

Raegan Revord, who portrays Missy, penned, “You are such a superstar and I adore you!”Iain Armitage, known for playing Sheldon, chimed in, “You are truly incredible! Sending love to you, Meemaw!”
