The cast of Young Sheldon has reunited on the set of Georgie and Mandy’s First Marriage. While three of the stars appeared on screen, one chose to show their support off-camera.
Fans of Young Sheldon were delighted to discover that Missy (Raegan Revord), Mary (Zoe Perry), and Meemaw (Annie Potts) would all be featured in Georgie and Mandy’s First Marriage, bringing the original cast back together (with the exception of one absent member, but we’ll overlook that).
Despite the announcement of a sequel, it has not been officially confirmed if Sheldon will make an appearance on the show. In the season finale of Young Sheldon’s seventh season, he departed from Medford and symbolically passed the torch to The Big Bang Theory as he headed to Caltech.
Despite the completion of filming on Episode 1 of the Georgie and Mandy spinoff, it seems that we may now have an answer – and it appears that Sheldon will not be returning to Texas anytime soon. Nevertheless, actor Iain Armitage was present to witness the reunion of the Young Sheldon cast, and he couldn’t be happier.
In a recent Instagram post, he expressed his excitement for attending the first taping of Georgie and Mandy’s First Marriage. As someone who grew up on the Warner Brothers lot, it was a special honor for him. He also enjoyed seeing many familiar faces that he loves.
“I had the opportunity to reunite with @thisisanniepotts, @emilyosment, @melissapeterman, @montanajordan, @raeganrevord, @rachelbayjones, @willsasso and numerous other cast and crew members from our time filming Young Sheldon. It was a fantastic evening and the show was as terrific as ever!”
He expressed his excitement about being back, but later realized that he had hardly taken any pictures. However, he reassured that the audience will get to witness the show firsthand in October. Although he wanted to share his favorite scene, he might not be allowed to do so until then. He congratulated everyone involved in the production.
Although fans were already aware that Osment, Jordan, Jones, and Sasso would be the main cast members in the sequel, the fact that Melissa Peterman’s handle was included in the captions hints at a potential return for nosy neighbor Brenda as well.
As of now, the Young Sheldon stars are confirmed to only appear in the first two episodes of Georgie and Mandy’s First Marriage. However, the length of the series has yet to be announced.
In the days before the taping, there was a purported video leak involving actor Montana Jordan, causing fans to express that they are unable to view Georgie in the same light.
The filming schedule is expected to carry on during the summer months, and viewers can anticipate the release of new episodes on CBS starting from October 17.
