It has been widely known that several members of the Young Sheldon cast will be reprising their roles in the upcoming Georgie and Mandy spinoff. A recent behind-the-scenes photo has now confirmed that our beloved nosy neighbor will also be joining them.
Filming for the upcoming season of Georgie and Mandy’s First Marriage is currently in progress. For devoted viewers who were left reeling by the Season 7 finale, there is cause for celebration as more of the beloved Cooper family will be making a return.
It was recently announced that Annie Potts (Meemaw), Zoe Perry (Mary), and Raegan Revord (Missy) have been cast to star in the first two episodes of the new TV show. It is still uncertain if Sheldon will make a cameo appearance. However, sightings of Iain Armitage and Melissa Peterman (Brenda) at the filming location have sparked speculation about their involvement.
A couple of weeks have passed and we now have some answers. It seems that Sheldon won’t be making a comeback as he was only there to provide support. However, Brenda, the nosy neighbor, will be making an appearance on camera.
The confirmation of this was found in Potts’ Instagram post, where the caption stated, “My close friends @rachelbayjones and @melissapeterman from @youngsheldoncbs at the WB rose garden during their lunch break from filming Georgie and Mandy’s First Marriage!”
Despite no official confirmation, it is logical to assume that Brenda will appear in the same episodes as the other former cast members of Young Sheldon.
Despite this, it is certain that Georgie and Mandy’s marriage will remain rooted in Medford, increasing the likelihood of Brenda being seen in the background from time to time.
When we last encountered Brenda, she appeared to be handling George’s passing well as she attempted to flirt with his former colleagues in Season 7 Episode 13.
Despite not being on-screen, fans are aware that Peterman has been occupied with the production of a sitcom pilot for NBC called Happy’s Place, in which she stars alongside her former co-star, Reba McEntire.
Additionally, the upcoming series will see the addition of Rachel Bay Jones (Audrey) and Will Sasso (Jim) as series regulars, joining Montana Jordan and Emily Osment who have already been cast as Georgie and Mandy, respectively.
Meanwhile, Mandy’s younger brother, Connor, has recently been replaced on Young Sheldon by Dougie Baldwin, who will now be portraying the character. Joining the cast is Jessie Prez, who will be playing Jim’s colleague Rueben.
