YouTube Chief Executive Awards IShowSpeed with 10 Million Diamond Play Button

YouTube’s Chief Executive Officer, Neal Mohan, presented the iconic 10 million subscriber Play Button to streaming sensation IShowSpeed during a recent gathering of content creators on October 17.

IShowSpeed has become a household name in the streaming world, captivating audiences with his viral international escapades, extravagant challenges, and impressive athletic displays.

In recent months, Speed’s fame has soared, particularly after wrapping up a successful tour in Southeast Asia, where he amassed over 110 million total views and earned the title of the top English-speaking streamer globally.

During this tour, he hit a major milestone, achieving 30 million subscribers, and he has plans to expand his travel to the Middle East next. He received the official Play Button recognizing his remarkable achievements just now.

IShowSpeed’s popularity was evident as he drew large crowds of enthusiastic fans throughout his Southeast Asia travels.

The Diamond Play Button is awarded to YouTube creators who reach the impressive milestone of 10 million subscribers. Following that, they are eligible for their next recognition, a custom creator award, once they reach 50 million subscribers.

After celebrating his 30 million subscriber milestone in September, Speed had the opportunity to meet Neal Mohan on October 17, where the CEO posed for a photo while personally presenting him with the prestigious Diamond Play Button.

Speed was not the only influencer to engage with YouTube’s CEO that day; Mohan also met with Game Theory’s MatPat, a content creator who notably stepped back from video production in 2023.

As of this writing, both Speed and Mohan have not released public statements following their meeting; however, fan reactions have been mixed, with some suggesting that Mohan’s acknowledgment came rather late.

“Just 20 million subs late,” remarked one Twitter user.

“Finally, Speed is receiving the acknowledgment he deserves from YouTube,” another fan commented.

This recognition is just another highlight for Speed, who recently launched his exclusive Prime Hydration flavor in September 2024, along with impressing Olympic athlete Frederick Richard with his attempt to break the world record for the most backflips executed in a single day.
