YouTube has clarified the circumstances surrounding the remonetization of prominent streamer Dr Disrespect, who recently admitted to sending inappropriate direct messages to a minor. This development comes seven months after he was banned indefinitely from Twitch due to these offenses.
On January 30, during a live broadcast on YouTube and Rumble, Dr Disrespect enthusiastically announced his ability to monetize his content once again.“Ladies and gentlemen, we got our f**king YouTube monetization back!” he proclaimed, marking a significant moment in his streaming career.

Following his previous application denial in October, YouTube reviewed Dr Disrespect’s recent activities, ultimately making the decision to reverse their earlier stance.
YouTube’s Explanation for Reinstatement
In a statement provided to PC Gamer, a YouTube representative indicated that the streamer had faced suspension from the YouTube Partner Program due to violations of content policies. However, after a detailed evaluation of his more recent channel activity, they decided to allow him to reapply and regain access.
The spokesperson emphasized, “Creators who are suspended from this program can reapply for access, and after careful review of the channel’s recent activity, we’ve reinstated it.” Nonetheless, they cautioned that further infractions could result in renewed punitive measures.
Dr Disrespect’s previous YouTube demonetization occurred in June 2024, coinciding with revelations from former Twitch employees regarding his original ban in 2020.

After being demonetized, Dr Disrespect transitioned to Rumble, where he has taken a leadership role within its gaming division. His use of Twitch’s Whispers feature to contact an underage individual was publicly acknowledged by him in a deleted tweet, which compounded the backlash he faced, leading to widespread distancing from fellow streamers.
Commitment to Rumble Gaming
Despite regaining monetization on YouTube, Dr Disrespect has made it clear that his allegiance remains with Rumble. He expressed on social media his commitment to growing Rumble Gaming, stating, “This only makes me double down on the Rumble platform even more. They had our back since Day 1.” He remains optimistic about the potential for the gaming community on Rumble, assuring fans that he plans to participate actively in shaping its future.
We’re all in on Rumble Gaming. This only makes me double down on the Rumble platform even more. They had our back since Day 1. The gaming community is just getting started on Rumble and I’m glad to be a part of it in these early stages and for the long haul. Rumble…

While Dr Disrespect’s initial streams on Rumble attracted considerable viewership, recent metrics indicate a decline in his audience numbers on both Rumble and YouTube. According to Product Manager Nazar Babenko from Stream Charts, January marked a significant downturn in average and peak viewership for him on YouTube.
The question remains whether his newfound monetization status will bolster his return to previous viewership levels or if his popularity will continue to wane as 2025 unfolds.
