YouTube has recently introduced an AI channel assistant feature to aid users in recovering their accounts if they have been hacked.
Despite efforts to prevent it, YouTube has continuously faced problems with its users falling victim to hacking. Even popular figures on the platform, such as LinusTechTips, have experienced their accounts being compromised in recent years.
Recently, YouTube has introduced a new AI-powered support assistant to assist creators who may be concerned about their account being hacked or compromised.
Previously, users were responsible for trying to alter their passwords or utilizing the Google Account recovery page in order to regain control of their compromised accounts.
Many prominent figures on the platform have utilized their extensive social media fan bases to directly reach out to YouTube for a faster resolution.
Only “Eligible Creators” Allowed For Now
YouTube announced a new “troubleshooting tool”on August 21, 2024, which provides an extra level of support in case of any unforeseen issues.
The recently added feature, located in the YouTube Help Center, will assist the user in answering a set of questions related to themselves and their channel.
According to Google’s support page for the latest feature, utilizing these questions will enhance the security of your Google login, which is crucial in regaining control of your channel.
Any modifications made to the impacted account by the hacker, such as unauthorized video uploads, alterations to your AdSense account, and personal information, will be reverted.
Currently, this new tool is only offered in English and only “eligible creators”will initially have access to it. However, Google does not specify the criteria for eligibility.
Despite being currently available only in English, Google is actively developing plans to make it accessible to all creators in the future.
