YouTube Star Dies at Age 35 Following Stage 4 Cancer Diagnosis

Despite being diagnosed with stage 4 cancer, rising YouTube star Luke Goodwin defied expectations and lived until the age of 35 before passing away.

In 2023, Luke Goodwin, a popular YouTube personality, started documenting his battle with cancer on his channel, ‘I Will Not Be Defeated’.

Luke passed away on August 2, 2024, after battling stage 4 Leiomyosarcoma (LMS), a rare type of smooth muscle tumor.

“In an Instagram post, his wife Beckey shared that he passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his loved ones including his mother and father.”

She emphasized, “Luke is now at peace and free from pain. His followers, all of you have been incredible and have helped keep his spirits strong.”

In the months before his passing, Luke shared a final message with his followers through a YouTube video titled ‘End of Life: Feeling Like Death is Near.’

While he was sitting in a vehicle, he described the state of his condition at that moment.

He said, while catching his breath, that even though it was a short video, it was important to keep everyone informed.

“During one of my other videos, I received a comment from someone asking if I was still alive. I want to assure that person and everyone else that I am indeed alive and well. Despite any challenges, I will continue to persevere and move forward.”

Despite being diagnosed with LMS in August 2022 and given only one year to live, Luke defied the odds and surpassed his life expectancy.

As the news of Luke’s passing spread across the internet, his loyal supporters expressed their condolences on his YouTube channel.

“A fan expressed, “Luke, your journey has helped so many. You are cherished and will be dearly missed.”

Another person added, “You are a true legend, soaring to great heights. Despite this terrible disease, you persevered with determination and a smile on your face.”

Luke is remembered by his wife Beckey, their two children Taylor, 5, and Scarlett, 3, and his parents Lisa and Brian who are still with us.
