The controversial YouTuber and former journalist Lee Jin Ho is once again at the center of controversy. His recent allegations regarding the late actress Kim Sae Ron have elicited strong reactions, with claims of domestic abuse, financial woes, and astonishing medical expenses coming to the forefront.

Allegations Made in Recent Video

On March 21, Lee released a video titled “Why Late Kim Sae Ron Had to Bear Hospital Bills Alone” on his channel “Entertainment President Lee Jin Ho.” In this video, he showcased an audio clip featuring Kim Se Ui, CEO of the Garosero Research Institute. During the clip, Kim Se Ui questioned, “They say a manager paid ₩20 million for her hospital bills? That doesn’t make sense. Show us the evidence.” In response, Lee accused Kim Se Ui of having “thousands of photos” but lacking substantial proof, while also revealing that Kim is currently facing a sexual crime lawsuit from actor Kim Soo Hyun. Lee asserted, “If this charge is acknowledged, civil damages could exceed ₩10 billion.”

Medical Debt and Financial Struggles

Lee further expanded on Kim Sae Ron’s medical challenges, alleging she had been hospitalized multiple times following purported suicide attempts. He estimated that each visit cost between ₩5.4 million and ₩5.8 million, bringing her total medical expenses to around ₩16.5 million, none of which were covered by her family. Instead, he claimed these bills became her personal debt.

Additionally, Lee mentioned that her agency facilitated regular medical checkups that incurred costs of ₩6 million to ₩7 million over an extended period, contributing to her financial burdens. He stated, “Her agency covered around ₩50 million to ₩60 million overall. And although her contract ended in December last year, the company forgave the remaining ₩19 million loan, for the sake of Kim Sae Ron and her manager’s future.”

Public Reaction and Controversy

In light of the growing criticism, Lee asserted his confidence, claiming to possess substantial research and evidence. He stated, “Claims that I edited recordings maliciously are false—I only cut out breathing sounds for clarity.” Lee added a bold challenge: “If the recordings are proven fake, I’ll delete my channel. If not, delete the Garosero channel instead.” However, many netizens have remained skeptical of his assertions. Comments on the video included harsh remarks such as, “Stop disrespecting the dead, ” and “How long will you keep tormenting someone who’s already passed away?”

Some users accused Lee of attempting to shift the focus away from Kim Soo Hyun’s alleged past relationship with Kim Sae Ron, who was reportedly only 15 when they began dating. This accusation arose after Kim Sae Ron’s family released photos purportedly taken during their relationship and claimed that she was coerced into repaying ₩700 million in damages following a DUI incident.

Official Responses and Legal Actions

In response to the swirling allegations, Kim Soo Hyun’s agency has stated that their relationship only began in the summer of 2019, after Kim Sae Ron had reached legal adulthood. Regarding the claim of her debt liabilities, the agency clarified, “If we had covered her penalties unilaterally, it would constitute a breach of duty by the company’s executives. We were legally obligated to secure a formal claim.”

Furthermore, on March 17, Kim Sae Ron’s family filed a defamation complaint against Lee Jin Ho with the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency, which was subsequently assigned to the Seodaemun Police Station on March 18.

Lee has countered these allegations by claiming the main source of false information is “the woman claiming to be Kim Sae Ron’s aunt, ” who he alleges is actually just a family friend. He insisted, “This needs to be exposed.” Despite his ongoing updates and claims, the public’s sentiment towards Lee remains overwhelmingly negative.
