YouTuber arrested for endangering passengers with “brainless” railway antics

A well-known Indian YouTuber has been taken into custody for placing different items on railway tracks as part of their content, posing a danger to the safety of passengers.

Gulshan Sheikh, known by his YouTube channel name ‘Gulzar Indian Hacker’, has amassed a following of over 237,000 subscribers. He often shares videos of himself performing stunts on railway tracks, claiming them to be “experiments”.

This has involved placing bicycles, cylinders, and various other objects on the tracks, and then recording the outcome when a train collides with them. There was even an instance where a chicken was left on the tracks, although it is uncertain whether or not it was actually struck.

However, following a complaint lodged against Sheikh on X (formerly Twitter), the YouTuber was arrested at his residence in Khandrauli, Uttar Pradesh.

The Twitter account for ‘trainwalebhaiya’ utilized the social media platform to push the local police into taking prompt action, claiming that Sheikh was endangering the lives of thousands of passengers.

The TeamYouTube account officially responded, assuring that the information would be passed on to the appropriate teams. Other commenters also expressed their disapproval of Sheikh’s actions, calling them “shameful”and “brainless”.

There were also numerous appeals for the Uttar Pradesh Police to take action before Sheikh could delete any content. However, the account now displays only three videos and two shorts, despite a previous screenshot on X revealing a large amount of content. It is uncertain whether Sheikh removed the videos on his own or if YouTube intervened.

According to one user on X, it was suggested that Sheikh’s videos were edited because there seemed to be a jump cut after he placed the object. The user theorized that the YouTuber was simply throwing the object to the side after the impact with the train, as it was never captured on camera.

The individual who posted the complaint, however, claimed that there were numerous videos showing the train colliding with objects. They also expressed concern that Sheikh’s content, whether real or not, could potentially encourage others to imitate it, making it a bigger issue.

This concern was echoed by others who stated, “He will motivate numerous individuals to engage in such actions solely for the sake of gaining views and impressions.”
