Anthony Vella, a YouTuber, has shared a video of a terrifying accident involving a motorized paraglider which he claims nearly took his life.
Anthony Vella is an avid paramotor enthusiast and YouTuber, known for his motorized paragliding adventures. His channel showcases his passion for the sport through reviews, instructional videos, and footage of his flights.
The 33-year-old YouTuber was conducting a flight test of a BGD Luna 3 above Enchanted Rock State Park in Texas.

During the video, Vella was traveling at a speed of 48 mph when the parachute mechanism on his glider suddenly collapsed. As a result, he fell approximately 85 to 100 feet to the ground. Despite the crash, the paramotor enthusiast managed to quickly call 911 using the Siri function on his iPhone.
As he lay in agony on the ground, two onlookers quickly came to his aid and called 911 for a second time. While waiting for help to arrive, Vella contacted his wife to inform her of the situation. “The glider collapsed and my arm is broken,”he reassured her. “I’ll be okay, my love, please don’t worry.”
The kind individuals who were helping Vella managed to notify the emergency services and inform his wife of their location. The paramedics promptly began administering treatment to Vella on-site and were amazed by his condition.
Despite falling out of the sky, you’re doing pretty good,” one of the emergency workers commented. Vella’s wife arrived at the scene and provided information to the paramedics before he was eventually transported to the hospital.
Vella clarified from his hospital bed that the crash was caused by an undetected tension knot in his glider, causing his parachute to collapse while landing. He did not hold the BGD Luna 3 responsible and instead advised other paramotor enthusiasts to thoroughly inspect their equipment before taking flight.
Vella assured that he would continue to document his rehabilitation process and expressed no intention of giving up paragliding or paramotoring in the future. In the video description, his wife mentioned that Anthony was eager to return to his previous level of strength and activity.
