YouTuber builds legion of robot Minions to prank town

A popular YouTuber gained inspiration from a successful movie series and used small, AI-powered robots to pull a prank on his entire town.

Electo, or Electoboy as he is sometimes called, devoted several months to constructing and coding a miniature army of robotic Minions. These Minions were modeled after the beloved yellow henchmen of Gru from the popular Despicable Me movie series.

Similar to the robots seen in the movies, the majority of the Minions were programmed to roam aimlessly and utter the nonsensical phrases frequently used by their movie counterparts. This presented an issue for the creator, who had a particular (and chaotic) objective in mind.

In search for a way to control his unruly yellow army, he opted to connect them all to one Minion through digital means. This would ensure that they would all obey the commands of the ‘King Bob’ minion.

In contrast to his fellow minions, the ‘King Bob’ minion was designed to be operated from a distance and was equipped with a camera that allowed Electo to view everything through his top minion’s eyes.

After several weeks dedicated to 3D printing, sanding, painting, and testing, Electo was finally prepared to execute his plan – to prank his entire town by releasing his army in a shopping mall.

To everyone’s surprise, the initial reactions were overwhelmingly positive. Numerous shoppers expressed their delight and curiosity towards the Minions, with some even inquiring about the possibility of purchasing the robot minions from Electo.

Despite the rejoicing, not everyone was happy as mall staff eventually caught up with Electro and his team. They were informed that they did not have permission from the mall to carry out his ‘experiment’ or film the results.

Despite facing obstacles, Electo remains determined to continue enhancing his yellow and blue robot army and equipping them with weapons for a potential robot battle royale. However, this may not be the most prudent decision. This is not the first instance of a YouTuber experimenting with unconventional uses of technology, such as constructing a car from electric scooters or creating a replica of the Apple Vision Pro.
