Recent disclosures have emerged through a YouTube channel named “Shamu.” On October 28, they published a video titled “[Exclusive] Revelations About Jessi’s Fan Assault Case: Perpetrator Identified as Joker, Age Exposed,” which delved into the identity of the individual involved in the assault against a fan of Jessi.
The channel claims that the assailant has an Instagram handle inspired by the iconic line “Why so serious?” from the Joker character in the film The Dark Knight, which is why he has been dubbed “Joker.”
This Instagram user associated with the name “Joker” had included a link to a cosmetics company in their bio. The YouTuber managed to uncover the individual’s real name, “Justin Ma,” by investigating the “referrer” ID on the mentioned website.
Further searches through a people-finding service revealed that Justin Ma is believed to reside in the San Gabriel Valley area of Los Angeles, California.
Born in September 1987, Justin Ma’s Instagram numerical ID started with “09,” which aligns with his birth month.
Additionally, an email account associated with Justin Ma was discovered, mirroring the ID of a YouTube account that contained a video from 16 years ago that named him as the abuser, corroborating the claims against him.
The individual labeled as “A” is accused of assaulting a fan who approached to take a photo with Jessi in Apgujeong, Gangnam, Seoul, on September 29. Jessi did not step in during the incident and departed the scene. When police inquired about the assailant’s location from Jessi’s entourage, they reportedly stated, “We have no idea.”
Jessi’s representatives clarified their stance, asserting, “We have no connection to the assailant, who is merely a friend from a production team associated with Jessi.” Subsequently, both Jessi and the producer were summoned for police questioning.
Numerous conjectural posts regarding the suspected individual “A” have surfaced. Some rumors suggest that he is linked to a gang based mainly in Los Angeles and is of Taiwanese heritage. This gang is reportedly involved in drug trafficking and gambling as their primary income sources.
On October 23, Jessi issued a second apology on her Instagram. Despite a previous expression of regret, ongoing public backlash prompted her to provide additional clarification. She stated, “I wish I could relive that moment,” conveying her sorrow. “Had I taken a picture with the victim, acted more decisively to protect him, gone directly to the police, or issued a proper apology, perhaps the victim wouldn’t be enduring this suffering.”
