Miguel ‘El Jasper’ Vivanco, a well-known YouTuber and TikTok personality, was discovered dead with an astonishing 70 bullet wounds, leading authorities to suspect involvement by a brutal drug gang. His family alleges that cartel hitmen forcibly entered his residence in Sinaloa on November 21, before his lifeless body was found two days later, wrapped in a sheet along a secluded dirt road.
The circumstances surrounding Vivanco’s death are profoundly troubling. He was reportedly bound, with tape over his eyes, and bore numerous gunshot injuries. As reported by The Mirror, local law enforcement believes that he had fallen victim to kidnapping and torture, allegedly at the hands of the notorious drug gang known as Los Chapitos. This group is infamous for similar acts of violence in the region.

Ongoing Investigations into Vivanco’s Murder
Miguel Vivanco had previous associations with Los Chapitos alongside fellow influencer Marcos Eduardo Castro, known as Markitos Toys. In September, Vivanco was sanctioned by Mexico’s Office of Control of Foreign Assets under their illicit drug program, highlighting potential criminal ties.
Markitos Toys, while facing accusations of trafficking for Los Chapitos, maintains that his revenue solely comes from his online content creation, denying any connections to illegal activities. Following Vivanco’s death, fellow content creator Cristo Rich expressed heartfelt condolences on Instagram, reminiscing about their friendship and the profound impact Vivanco had on his life.
Rich shared a poignant tribute, stating, “You took a part of me with you. I know we will see each other again brother. You were a very special person to me. No one can ever replace you.” Despite ongoing investigations, as of now, no arrests have been made concerning these grim events.
This tragic incident is not isolated, as influencers have previously been victims of violence linked to gang activities. For instance, in 2023, a TikTok personality known as the ‘Narco Queen’ was murdered in broad daylight, highlighting the dangerous interplay between social media fame and organized crime.
