YouTuber Pretty Pastel Please’s sudden cause of death revealed

On June 26, at the age of 30, Australian YouTuber ‘Pretty Pastel Please’ passed away unexpectedly. The cause of her death has recently been revealed.

The internet sensation, who went by the name Alexandra, gained popularity through her vlogs, product critiques, fashion hauls, and travel vlogs. She had a fan base of more than 691,000 subscribers on her YouTube channel and 127,000 followers on her Instagram account.

Nevertheless, Alexandra’s live streams frequently had to be cut short because she would often feel dizzy and have difficulty breathing. Her passing in late June was described by her loved ones as “abrupt, unforeseen, and heartbreaking for everyone who knew her.”

According to a Facebook post, the cause of death was determined to be Lymphocytic myocarditis, a rare and fatal infection of the heart that affects only one in every fifteen million people.

During her final two streams, Alexandra had not been feeling well due to an inflammatory disease. Unbeknownst to her, the symptoms she experienced were actually signs of heart failure.

The initial autopsy, as stated in the post, did not detect the disease and it was only through a microscopic toxicology investigation that it was discovered. This revelation of Alexandra’s cause of death as Lymphocytic myocarditis deeply traumatized her family once again.

According to the National Library of Medicine, the diagnosis of Lymphocytic myocarditis can be difficult due to its non-specific symptoms, which can range from a mild fever to severe myocarditis and cardiogenic shock.

After Alexandra passed away, her family advised individuals who may be experiencing symptoms of Lymphocytic myocarditis to seek immediate medical help. According to John Hopkins Medicine, the disease often does not show any symptoms in its initial stages, but some to be aware of include:

  • Chest pain
  • Fatigue
  • Rapid or abnormal heart rhythm (arrhythmia)
  • Indications of an infection:
  • Diarrhea
  • Headache
  • Fever
  • Muscle aches
  • Sore throat
  • Shortness of breath
  • Swelling in legs

The name Alexandra signifies the role of being a defender and protector of humanity.

“We mourn deeply for her passing and hope that she is now in a peaceful and caring environment with the loved ones who preceded her. Our hearts are filled with gratitude for her unwavering love for us and for all of humanity.”
