Online, Jay, known as ‘jayletitgo’, manages a channel on the video-sharing platform called ‘LET IT GO, WORLD TRAVELER JAY’ that showcases his travel experiences.
Despite limited public transport, Jay’s decision to cycle 450 kilometers (approximately 279 miles) in the Leh region, India turned out to be a bad one.
During the journey, a truck driver stopped and offered the adventurer a ride, which he agreed to. As a result, Jay was reportedly held captive for more than 30 hours.
At 13:40, the truck came to a stop on the side of the road.
Initially feeling fortunate, Jay accepted a ride from the men as he had been cycling for days. However, upon waking up in a different location far from his intended destination, he realized his luck had run out.
At this location, the men revealed their true intentions by allegedly pressuring Jay to hand over his money, phone, and cameras while threatening him with sticks. Feeling frightened, Jay pleaded with the men to let him go in a nearby city, offering to withdraw cash from his card as a bargaining tool.
Upon obtaining phone service, Jay promptly forwarded a picture of the truck and the men’s faces to a friend, expressing that he was in a state of “distress”and had potentially been “abducted”. Despite Jay’s efforts to pretend to consume the substances that were offered, the men supposedly managed to drug him.
“After that, I completely lost my sanity,”Jay stated (translated from Korean). When he regained consciousness, he was able to send his location to his friend. Eventually, the kidnappers became aware of Jay’s messages and, after 30 hours of being held captive, they abandoned him on the side of the road.”
Upon being notified by Jay, the police were able to ultimately catch the perpetrators who had abducted him. Although initially denying any involvement, the men eventually confessed during interrogations due to alleged mistreatment by the police.
“Jay recalled that [the police] made a strong effort to physically harm the three individuals [the kidnappers] in my presence. The perpetrators, in front of me, began to weep and repeatedly apologized for their actions.”
There are both good and bad people.
