Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG reveals most shocking card banlist since Orcust/Salamangreat in 2020

Konami’s latest banlist for Yu-Gi-Oh! has caused a major shift in the game’s meta. The removal of key cards is expected to greatly impact the top decks and potentially create a new balance of power.

Konami has officially announced on the Yu-Gi-Oh! Twitter/X page that several cards will be included in the Forbidden list. These cards are highly impactful and have been integral to the dominance of Snake-Eye decks in the current meta.

Among the Snake-Eye players, the most significant casualties will be Linkuriboh, Baronne de Fleur, and Borreload Savage Dragon. These cards will be prohibited in North & Latin America starting April 15 and in EU, ME, Africa, and Asia starting April 22.

This banlist change is arguably one of the most impactful ones in recent years, possibly even more significant than the notable announcement regarding multiple decks in January 2020. Interestingly, Thunder Dragon Colossus, which was banned four years ago, will now be Limited once again in a nice display of synchronicity.

The complete schedule of upcoming modifications is listed below:

Unauthorized

  • Linkuriboh
  • Baroness de Fleur
  • Borreload Savage Dragon
  • Summon Limit

Restricted

  • Archnemeses Protos
  • Tidal, Dragon Ruler of Waterfalls
  • Thunder Dragon Colossus
  • Majespecter Unicorn – Kirin
  • Chicken Game
  • Anti-Spell Fragrance

Limited

  • Armageddon Knight
  • Purrely Delicious Memory

Infinite

  • Destiny HERO – Malicious
  • Orcust Harp Horror
  • Speedroid Terrortop
  • The command given is “Sky Striker Mobilize – Engage!”

There is a possibility that the full list, once released on the Yu-Gi-Oh! website, may contain some additional changes. However, these changes are expected to make up the majority of the upcoming updates. As the World Championships are scheduled for September, it will be intriguing to observe how the tournament unfolds with these altered circumstances.
