Throughout the Sukuna fight, the resonance and connection between souls has been emphasized repeatedly. It was during this battle that Yuji’s connection to the essence of souls became evident, as he was able to target them with his strikes due to his proximity to Mahito. This revelation also sparked speculation that Yuji’s soul and mind are still linked to Sukuna in some way.

Despite condensing all of his essence into one of Yuji’s fingers and having Megumi use it for a body swap, Sukuna had been residing in Yuji for too long. This was evident in Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 266, where it was revealed that Yuji’s left hand was missing two fingers. While the little finger was torn off during the body swap, the whereabouts of the missing ring finger remain unmentioned and unaddressed.

It is believed that the finger shown at the end of Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 266 belongs to Yuji, as he has been described as a cursed object fully immersed in Sukuna’s cursed energy. This essentially makes him an extension of Sukuna. The recent reveal of another Sukuna finger in Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 266, which may be the last one, has been a significant plot point since the onset of the Gojo vs. Sukuna battle.

Despite not being able to confirm the exact location of the finger, it was observed to be hanging in the air, bound by multiple ropes. The unique staircase and design in the vicinity of the finger indicate that it may be one of Tengen’s barriers. Even though Tengen is now incapacitated, it has been previously established that cursed techniques can continue to exist even after one’s passing.
