Despite the fact that Sukuna is still standing strong, Jujutsu Kaisen is quickly approaching its conclusion. While Yuta is currently engaged in battle with Sukuna, fans have unanimously predicted that the ultimate showdown will be between Yuji and Sukuna. The possibility of Yuji unleashing his potential domain expansion has become a hot topic among fans, particularly after witnessing his remarkable growth in his previous fight against Sukuna.
It is believed that Sukuna’s barrierless domain, which is referred to as a divine technique, poses a distinct obstacle that Yuji may have the ability to overcome. Some theories suggest that Yuji’s domain may involve a binding vow, akin to the sacrifices observed in Hunter x Hunter.
This article contains spoilers for the Jujutsu Kaisen series.
Jujutsu Kaisen: Yuji’s Domain and Its Simple Application
Ever since Yuji began specializing in close-quarters combat as his main combat style, his potential domain expansion and its specifications have been a popular topic among fans. Even during the Sukuna fight, Yuji was the only sorcerer who demonstrated his exceptional rate of growth.
Despite the assistance of Ui Ui’s soul-swapping ability, it goes without saying that Yuji has demonstrated remarkable potential, placing him among the ranks of numerous high-tier sorcerers. This was particularly evident in the entirety of the battle, as Yuji effortlessly executed multiple black flashes against Sukuna and even had the ability to heal fatal wounds.
Sukuna’s domain has been described as a divine technique, known for its use of domains as a barrier technique. This involves the sorcerer using a barrier as a canvas to bring their inner domain into existence. However, unlike traditional domains, Sukuna’s does not require a barrier. Instead, he is able to manifest his domain directly into empty space, often likened to a painting without a canvas.
Yuji is almost certain to obtain a domain expansion specifically designed to counter Sukuna’s, although the method has not been specified yet. So far, all domain expansions have been a battle of opposing domains, resulting in the weaker and less polished domain collapsing. It has been emphasized that two domains cannot exist simultaneously.
It is plausible that Yuji’s domain will turn out to be the most uncomplicated among all domains. His domain may serve as a mere barrier, solely designed to counter the attacks of other domains, particularly Sukuna’s domain. Despite potential skepticism from fans, the introduction of binding vows in Jujutsu Kaisen opens up the possibility for this to occur.
The concept of binding vows in Jujutsu Kaisen is comparable to Hunter x Hunter’s nen, as it allows users to gain immense strength at the cost of a significant sacrifice. For instance, if Yuji were to enact a binding vow that limited his use of cursed energy or domain expansion to only be used against Sukuna, it may serve as a viable counter to Sukuna’s own domain expansion.
It is likely that Yuji’s domain expansion has the ability to contain Sukuna’s barrierless domain expansion. Therefore, Yuji’s domain may serve as a canvas that restricts Sukuna’s divine painting-like domain expansion. Given their previous coexistence within one body, it is highly plausible for Yuji to envision a domain where his and Sukuna’s techniques can harmoniously coexist.
Final Thoughts
It is possible that Yuji’s conclusion will resemble Gon’s battle against Pitou in Hunter x Hunter. Like Gon, Yuji may risk his life by depleting his nen in order to defeat Pitou. This is made even more likely by the fact that Gege has drawn inspiration from Togashi. The release date for chapter 263 of Jujutsu Kaisen is scheduled for July 7, 2024.
