As the Black Clover manga approaches its ending, fans eagerly anticipate the ultimate showdown between Asta and Yuno and Lucius Zogratis. This will prove to be a formidable challenge for the Magic Knights, as the Paladin is by far the most powerful adversary they have ever faced.
While in the Hino Country, Asta witnessed Yuno Grinberryall’s impressive display of new magic and abilities as he faced Lucius alone. In contrast, Asta appeared to have only incorporated Zetten into his arsenal.
Therefore, as the final arc of Black Clover approaches and the possibility of Asta’s last fight against Lucius Zogratis looms, manga creator Yuki Tabata may have intentionally saved the reveal of the protagonist’s true potential for the climax. As a result, readers can anticipate this long-awaited moment to finally be unveiled in the upcoming chapters of the manga.

The Final Arc of Black Clover: Asta’s True Potential with Zetten and Devil Union
Black Clover fans may have noticed that each of Asta’s swords possesses unique abilities. However, these abilities are not set in stone as the swords evolve alongside their wielder. Throughout the manga, the Demon-Slayer Sword, Demon-Dweller Sword, and Demon-Destroyer Sword have all received various upgrades.
Initially, the Demon Slayer Sword was primarily utilized for attacking and cutting down adversaries, but it was eventually discovered that it could be enlarged for the purpose of flight. The Demon-Dweller Sword was originally only capable of drawing mana from others, but in the most recent storyline, it was unveiled that Asta could also utilize the sword to bestow his Anti-Magic abilities upon others. Additionally, the Demon-Destroyer Sword not only has the ability to dispel the effects of a spell, but it can also nullify powerful magic such as Reincarnation Magic.
The manga has only revealed one function for Demon-Slasher Katana so far – its ability to perform selective cutting. This allows the sword to release a slash that damages only the intended target, without harming anything it wishes to protect. However, as the protagonist continues to rely heavily on the sword in Black Clover’s final arc, it is likely that there is more to its capabilities waiting to be discovered.
The secret to unleashing the true power of the sword may lie with Zetten and Devil Union. Much of the final storyline centered around Asta’s training in the Hino Country to master Zetten. This technique allows one to control their ki and channel magic into their limbs. Additionally, in the manga, it was revealed that Asta learned to focus the Devil Union transformation on specific body parts in order to prolong its duration in battle.
From these two developments, it is clear that manga creator Yuki Tabata has something planned. It appears that he may be creating a link between Devil Union and Zetten, resulting in the protagonist’s attack becoming incredibly powerful. To control this immense strength, he can only rely on his fourth sword, the Demon-Slasher Katana and its selective cutting ability.
It is challenging to determine the exact purpose of this combination, but it is plausible that Asta employs it to defeat Lucius Zogratis and protect Julius Novachrono from harm. Given that they were both inhabiting the same body, defeating Lucius would result in the demise of Julius as well. As a result, Asta may utilize the combination of Devil Union and Zetten, along with his Demon-Slasher Katana, to specifically target and eliminate the soul of Lucius Zogratis, ultimately saving the Wizard King.
If fortune favors the fans, the forthcoming manga chapters may offer clues to such a possibility.
