Despite struggling to gain mainstream popularity during its initial chapters due to being overshadowed by other popular shonen series, the manga has recently garnered significant attention after being adapted into an anime by Studio Science Saru.

The Dandadan manga has gained a reputation for being one of the most visually stunning and entertaining stories to emerge in recent years. Its Danmanra arc was recently concluded, with the first mention of its actual title since chapter 1.

Despite the anticipation of fans for the story to continue after Dandadan chapter 163, it has been announced that Yukinobu Tatsu will take a break, resulting in the manga going on hiatus for the month of August.

It was announced that Yukinobu Tatsu will be taking a brief hiatus in order to conduct research for the future arcs of the story. The manga will resume its serialization at chapter 164, set to be released on September 2, 2024, and can be read on Shueisha’s MANGA Plus platform.

Despite causing distress among some fans, many have also recognized that this break may have been the best choice for the author. This is particularly evident in the carefully crafted nature of the Dandadan manga, which successfully blends multiple genres including mecha, supernatural, comedy, action, and mystery, and has received praise from the majority of the fandom.

The Dandadan manga series will be adapted into an anime by Science Saru, known for animating popular series such as Devilman Crybaby, Scott Pilgrim Takes Off, and Keep Your Hands Off Eizouken! This confirmation has been made.

The release date for the Dandadan anime, set to debut in October 2024, has yet to be disclosed. However, a special early premiere of Dandadan will take place in theaters from late August to early September.
