Choi Minhwan, the member of FTISLAND, has become part of the new family cast on KBS 2TV’s “The Return of Superman,”along with his son and twin daughters.
Despite the joy of those who have been closely following the family, the sight of the kids brought sadness to many as they were reminded of the emotional and physical pain caused by the separation of their parents.
Despite the absence of their mother, the three kids in the show maintain a strong bond with their father Minhwan as they navigate their new reality.
Fans were worried after Minhwan revealed that their oldest son Jaeyul appears to have a better understanding of the idea of divorce compared to his four-year-old twin siblings.
It was evident in the show that Jaeyul would frequently break down in tears while reminiscing about his mother Yulhee and expressing his yearning for her. He would also inquire with his father about whether or not his mother could still visit their home.
Despite assuring his son that he could see, talk, and be with his mother at any time, viewers were saddened to witness the young Jaeyul showing consideration towards both of his parents at the age of 6.
Additionally, netizens took note of Minhwan’s revelation that the three children appeared to be slightly underweight, suggesting that the separation may have also affected their overall physical well-being.
Finally, due to the fact that Jaeyul is only able to communicate with Yulhee through phone calls during non-scheduled meetings, there is concern that the children may be exposed to the negative remarks being made about their family.
Mother Accused of Causing Emotional Distress to Her Children and Receiving Harsh Criticism on Social Media
Following this, Yulhee’s personal SNS was bombarded with negative comments from netizens.
The former LABOUM singer is being unfairly portrayed as an “irresponsible mother”for relinquishing custody of her children, who are in need of love and nurturing from their mother.
According to the feedback, Korean internet users are annoyed that Yulhee purchased her own house and began living independently.
On her Instagram, she regularly posts about her daily life as a 26-year-old single woman, including dining out, traveling with friends, and showcasing her slimmer and healthier physique.
Upon witnessing this, internet users immediately branded her as an “unfit mother”and commented:

- “Can’t you just live with the kids? They miss their mom so much. My heart is aching.”
- “Romanticizing her single era.”
- “Is it okay to pretend like you are single?”

Conversely, Yulhee’s supporters rallied to her side and reassured her that it was acceptable to live her life and disregard the hurtful remarks.
