Battlefield 6 is gearing up for its second Open Beta weekend, bringing an array of exciting new features, including additional game modes, daily playlist rotations, and the introduction of a Custom Search option for players.

The inaugural Open Beta weekend, available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, attracted an impressive number of players. Fans engaged in sprawling battles within All-Out Warfare, exploring modes such as Conquest and Breakthrough while experimenting with a diverse array of weapons, vehicles, and gadgets.

Player feedback came in rapidly, with many commending the game’s grand scope and thrilling visuals. However, there were also calls for greater diversity and improved matchmaking controls. According to EA and DICE, the turnout surpassed their expectations, providing invaluable insights as they prepare for the game’s official release. Now, they are ready to launch the second weekend of the beta.

Introducing Custom Search: A First for Battlefield 6

The second week of the Open Beta is set to showcase significant updates, including a more diverse playlist that features daily rotations combining various game modes into unified queues. Players can now expect a richer experience.

The All-Out Warfare playlist now consolidates Breakthrough, Conquest, and Rush into one thrilling mix. For players who prefer quicker engagements, the Close Quarters mode allows for fast-paced action on smaller maps, with options for Domination, King of the Hill, and Squad Deathmatch.

Notably, EA reported that over 300, 000 attempts to circumvent the game’s anti-cheat protocols were blocked within just two days of the beta launch.

One of the most exciting new features is the Custom Search, marking a notable enhancement in player matchmaking. This feature allows users to select specific maps and modes for a more tailored gameplay experience.

The Custom Search option was developed in response to community feedback, aiming to provide a better matchmaking experience, although it does not function as a full server browser. For instance, players seeking only Conquest matches on the map “Siege of Cairo”can have their preferences prioritized in matchmaking searches. Currently, this feature is limited to Open Weapon playlists during the beta phase, but it gives a promising glimpse into more personalized matchmaking options.

Additionally, the Training Grounds will continue to be available for players to practice and test their weapons, while the Initiation Mode caters specifically to newcomers under rank 15. This beginner-friendly playlist incorporates AI soldiers and rotates between Breakthrough and Conquest styles. There will also be an introductory Rush mode designed for new players.

The second weekend of the Battlefield 6 Open Beta begins on Thursday, August 14, at 08:00 UTC, running until Sunday, August 17. Following this event, players will eagerly await the game’s full release on October 10, where all the insights and adjustments made during the beta will contribute to an enhanced launch experience.
