Minecraft has exciting news for its community: the beloved Copper Golem is finally making its debut in the game. This addition is particularly noteworthy as it represents a rare instance where a creature that lost a previous mob vote is being brought to life in the game.

Historically, Minecraft Live featured an annual mob vote, allowing players to select one of three potential mobs to be included in the next update. In 2021, the adorable Allay emerged victorious, much to the delight of fans. However, many players were left disappointed as the Copper Golem, despite its charm, did not secure enough votes to be added at that time.

Fast forward to 2025, Mojang has surprised everyone with the announcement that the Copper Golem will finally join the Minecraft universe, much to the excitement of its dedicated player base. For those eager to learn more about this intriguing new mob, here’s everything you need to know about its features, crafting method, and anticipated release timeline.

Understanding the Copper Golem

The Copper Golem distinguishes itself from both the Iron Golem and Snow Golem, being notably smaller in stature and undeniably cute.

This new creature is designed to enhance gameplay by helping players manage their inventory. It can autonomously collect items from copper chests and organize them into standard chests, streamlining your storage solutions. Additionally, the Copper Golem adds personality to your base by wandering around, creating a lively atmosphere.

As the Copper Golem explores your world and ages, it will undergo a cosmetic change, oxidizing and taking on a bluish tint. Rest assured, this transformation is purely visual; the Golem will not deteriorate or vanish as it oxidizes, mirroring the behavior of copper materials in the game.

However, players should note that the Copper Golem is not designed for combat. In the event of an attack, it will prefer to escape rather than defend you, unlike its Iron counterpart.

Crafting Your Copper Golem

Creating a Copper Golem is straightforward. To do so, you need to place a block of copper on the ground, followed by either a carved pumpkin or a jack o’lantern on top. Ensure that the pumpkin is the last block you place, as it can be positioned by you, another player, a dispenser, or even an enderman.
