Roblox has launched facial age verification checks to foster safe interactions among players of similar ages. This upgrade aims to enhance safety by facilitating proper age-based chat within the community. However, if there are inaccuracies in your account regarding your age, this could complicate your gaming experience.
The facial age checks were initially introduced in November 2025 for users in Australia, New Zealand, and the Netherlands. As part of its global commitment to safety, Roblox has expanded these measures worldwide, reinforcing its dedication to providing a secure gaming environment where players can verify they are age-appropriate for the content they access.
Fortunately, the minimum age to create a Roblox account is five years, allowing younger players to participate as long as they meet this threshold. Players over the age of thirteen can verify their age using a government-issued ID, bypassing facial recognition entirely. However, inaccuracies in account age can lead to difficulties, especially for users under 13, as Roblox may require additional identification verification.
Steps to Update Your Age on Roblox
Updating your age on Roblox is straightforward. Simply follow the steps outlined below to ensure your account reflects your actual age:
- Visit the Roblox website.
- Log in to your account.
- Click on the cog icon in the top right corner and choose Settings.

- Select Account Info.
- Click the pencil icon next to your Birthday.

- Enter your correct Birthday.
Once you’ve entered your accurate birthday, your account will be adjusted to the correct age category. This update could allow you to use ID verification instead of a facial scan, or vice versa. Keep in mind that the facial scanning feature is gradually being rolled out, so you might not need to submit a scan immediately.
