In a surprising revelation, AdHoc Studios has disclosed that one of the endgame states in their acclaimed title, Dispatch, remains completely unexplored, with evidence suggesting that no player has managed to unlock it thus far. This intriguing information came to light during an interview with Eurogamer, where co-founder Nick Herman elaborated on the game’s secretive mechanics.

The Hidden Endgame State of Dispatch

According to Herman, the narrative of Dispatch culminates in a covert personality assessment for the central character, Robert. This assessment is influenced predominantly by the player’s performance throughout the game, ultimately categorizing Robert into one of four distinct archetypes: an everyman, an anti-hero, or potentially a combination of other identities. Out of these possible outcomes, the developers have only recorded three so far.

Unachieved Endgame Outcome

“The data indicates that one particular outcome remains completely elusive, ” Herman stated.“It’s just a piece of content we’ve never witnessed, and our internal statistics show that perhaps nobody has reached it yet.” This remaining state is tied strictly to gameplay performance, emphasizing a player’s mastery over the game’s mechanics rather than relying on random chance or luck.

“Essentially, it boils down to whether you have perfected the game, ” Herman reflected.“To our knowledge, no one has accomplished that.”

Potential Technical Glitches

Despite the compelling nature of this mystery, the developers express a degree of skepticism regarding its attainability. Herman speculated, “It might just be a bug. The requirements are so challenging, that we’ve come to the conclusion that it’s understandable if no one has unlocked it yet, but it could also be a technical issue.”

Echoing this sentiment, Pierre Shorette, co-founder and lead writer, humorously remarked that the missing outcome might simply be hidden due to an error in design: “We have this permutation you may not have encountered because it’s not accessible, possibly because we broke it.”

As new players embark on their journeys in Dispatch, the excitement around uncovering this hidden game state continues to ignite interest within the gaming community.
