MrBeast’s Controversial Sponsor Trick on YouTube Sparks Debate on Dishonesty

MrBeast has faced allegations of dishonesty after a sponsored segment in one of his videos utilized a “trick”to ensure that viewers watched the entire advertisement.

Despite the allegations against his former employee, Ava Kris Tyson, Jimmy ‘MrBeast’ Donaldson continues to face backlash for his response and handling of the situation.

Despite the top YouTuber, who has the most subscribers, promising to conduct an investigation into the “disgusting”allegations, his response has faced criticism due to allegations of censoring comments about the scandal on his videos.

Nevertheless, it’s not only the deletion of comments that is causing controversy. In his video, ‘Survive 100 Days In Nuclear Bunker, Win $500,000,’ MrBeast also features a sponsored advertisement for a mobile game called Monster Hunter Now, which is similar to Pokemon Go.

Despite sponsored segments being a regular occurrence, this particular one is causing some controversy due to its use of a progress bar at the bottom of the screen. The bar moves rapidly at first, creating the false impression that the ad will be short and therefore viewers are less likely to skip it.

However, the progress bar eventually slows down significantly. As pointed out by user Rhys Sullivan on X, “It reaches the halfway point in 10 seconds, but then takes an additional 35 seconds to complete the remaining half.”

The approach elicited a combination of responses, as some individuals expressed disapproval towards the tactic, while others were amazed by it.

“Critics were quick to point out the deceptive nature of the statement, noting that it could potentially lead users to squander valuable time.”

“Another individual commented, ‘He has absolutely no regard for his audience.’ Someone else also noticed this and stated, ‘It was quite obvious and extremely deceitful.’”

Despite some criticism, there were still some who praised the trick, even if they considered it to be deceitful.

“According to X user Meme Bastard, the Homeboys are always one step ahead in the game, and their latest idea has been deemed as another clever and devious move by the beast.”
