During a recent interview with Billboard, Zico talked about his latest single “SPOT!”which features BLACKPINK’s Jennie. The song was released on April 26 and this is the first collaboration between the two artists.
Despite their recent friendship, Zico and Jennie’s connection has developed rapidly. In an interview, Zico disclosed that he was granted the special opportunity to preview Jennie’s solo tracks. He confirmed that she has multiple songs in progress and shared his impressions of their demo versions.
“I had the chance to peek at Jennie’s to-be-released solo track demos,”Zico admitted.
Despite not being able to disclose any details, Zico responded to Jennie’s new songs with great enthusiasm. He praised her work, mentioning that there were numerous tracks that he found exceptional.
“There were so many good ones,”Zico shared.
Furthermore, not only did Zico commend Jennie’s music, but he also had high regard for her as an artist. He highlighted her level of professionalism, which he observed during the production of “SPOT!”as well as the recording and filming of the music video.
“Everything about her is charming. From vocals and visuals to acting, as well as her sense of professionalism in bringing the song to fruition-it’s all these things combined. But personally, I think it was her professionalism,”Zico raved.
In the beginning of the month, Jennie personally announced that her upcoming solo album is in the works, further intensifying the anticipation.
“I also have a lot more coming with my album, wink, wink. I hope everyone’s excited for that, too,”Jennie teased.
