Over the years, Roy has become a viral sensation on TikTok, with hundreds of videos featuring his grandson and other family members being posted on the app.
Despite having amassed over 1.5M followers on the short-form video app and another 3.4M on Facebook, the account has been primarily managed by his grandson, Jason Roy, who has been filming videos of his grandpa.

On August 22, 2024, Jason announced that the 90-year-old TikTok star had passed away due to health complications caused by a mass in his throat. He shared the news with his followers via an Instagram post.
He expressed his sorrow in announcing the peaceful passing of his beloved grandfather, affectionately known as ‘Pop,’ who was surrounded by our family last night. Having had the privilege of spending 40 years with him, I am thankful for the memories and only aspire to reach his level of age and wisdom.
“I am constantly reminded of how fortunate I am to have had someone in my life who was so difficult to bid farewell to. I am extremely grateful for all of your prayers and cannot thank you enough. Your support has been deeply felt and means more to me than you can imagine. Although my Pop may not have had the chance to meet all of you, he held a special place in his heart for each and every one of you.”
