Rumors swirling around Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 2 suggest the introduction of the Rocket Drill, a modern iteration of an older mobility item. However, players may face restrictions due to a durability nerf impacting its functionality.

The Rocket Ram made its debut in Fortnite during Chapter 4 Season 4, serving as a popular tool for both demolishing structures and enhancing mobility across the map. This item quickly became a favorite for players looking to traverse vast distances efficiently.

In addition to the Rocket Ram, Chapter 6 has seen the introduction of various other mobility enhancements, including the Void Oni Mask and the Kinetic Blade. While the Kinetic Blade also originated in Chapter 4, its reintroduction in Chapter 6 came with complaints regarding its limited durability, effectively diminishing its utility. The upcoming Rocket Drill may soon join this list of items facing similar constraints.

Unpacking the Rocket Drill: What to Expect

According to insider information from popular leaker ShiinaBR, the Rocket Drill is expected to function similarly to the Rocket Ram introduced in Chapter 4. This new item promises to allow players not only to soar through the air but also to demolish various builds.

However, there is a catch. Leakers have hinted at the implementation of a durability feature for the Rocket Drill, potentially limiting how frequently players can utilize it. Another insider, Loolo_WRLD, echoed this sentiment by stating, “Don’t get too excited, like I mentioned before, all of the new movement items will have durability.”

The reception among players regarding the durability update has been mixed. One player lamented, “Durability is the worst thing they’ve added this chapter. WHY do they keep insisting on it?”Conversely, some players have praised the feature, claiming that durability has kept gameplay strategies, particularly with the Typhoon Blade, more balanced throughout Season 1.

As anticipation builds, Fortnite players will need to remain patient to discover how the durability mechanic will affect the Rocket Drill. Currently, it remains uncertain whether this new mobility item will be available at the start of Season 2 on February 21 or if it will debut later in the season.
