In the world of Windrose, the upkeep and repair of your ship are paramount. Imagine spending nearly thirty minutes sailing, only to meet your demise in the vast ocean—undoubtedly an experience you’d want to avoid!
Prioritizing the health of your vessel both before sailing and during engagements is essential. Let’s explore the effective methods to repair your ship in Windrose.
Effective Ship Repair Techniques in Windrose
Utilizing the Wharf for Repairs

One of the most underestimated methods for ship repair is the Wharf. As you progress through the main questline, you will have the opportunity to construct a Wharf, which requires 10x Wood and 10x Coarse Fabric. Once your Wharf is built, simply engage with it, navigate to the ship selection, choose the vessel you wish to repair, and click on the repair button (represented by the ship’s hitpoint percentage icon).
You’ll then see an estimated wood cost for the repairs. Many players often hesitate to visit the Wharf, understandably so; due to the convenience of calling your ship from anywhere on the starting island, and the fact that your Wharf might not always be nearby as you embark on your journeys.
Utilizing Repair Kits

In addition to repairs at the Wharf, Repair Kits provide a common means of ship restoration. There are two main categories of Repair Kits: combat and non-combat.
The standard Repair Kit, requiring just 10x Wood, is widely used. This kit operates akin to a bandage, applying a temporary healing buff to your ship. However, if your ship takes damage, the healing effect fades away. This kit may fall short during intense combat situations, as its effectiveness diminishes when faced with consecutive hits and has a cooldown period. If you manage to regain some health and are subsequently hit again, the cooldown will prevent the use of another Repair Kit immediately.

On the other hand, the Combat Repair Kit, crafted with 5x Wooden Plank, 1x Rum Bottle, and 1x Steel Nails, allows for swifter repairs, restoring 30% of your ship’s health over a 10-second interval. Although damage incurred will decrease this time frame, the healing effect remains active. This method is invaluable during combat, as it offers a calculated boost when facing adversaries.
Do keep in mind the resources you consume when opting for the Combat Repair Kit, particularly the Rum Bottles, as these are also essential for alchemical purposes or for creating the Homeward Journey potion, which facilitates fast travel back to your base.
These methods outline the primary ways to ensure your ship remains in top shape before you hit the open sea.
