Let’s face it: the thrill of petting cats in video games is universally cherished, and Enshrouded has made it even more delightful by expanding on this beloved feature. In addition to cats, players can also tame a delightful array of creatures, from goats to whimsical fae deer, and even rabbits. However, taming these animals requires a gentle touch, as they tend to be a bit skittish and can easily be startled.
Requirements for Taming Animals in Enshrouded
Taming any animal in Enshrouded is an engaging process that goes beyond merely approaching them. Instead, you must first engage their interest through food. Specifically, you need to distract the animals and then earn their trust through repeated interactions. This involves:

The Taming Process in Enshrouded
Approaching your future pet requires stealth and patience. Move slowly, keeping a suitable distance. When you find the right range, toss a piece of food near the animal and allow it to begin eating. Avoid any proximity that may trigger a yellow question mark above its head, as this signifies that the animal is now alert.
Once the animal is eating and there’s no yellow question mark, you can safely pat it. After the first pat, take a step back and repeat this two more times to complete the taming process. However, be cautious: if a yellow question mark appears, retreat immediately to avoid spooking the animal, or it may flee, resetting your progress. Keep in mind, each time you craft animal food, you produce ten pieces, providing a buffer for any mistakes during taming.
After successfully taming your animal, ensure you have a suitable enclosure back at your base to welcome your new companion. A well-constructed paddock will prevent any escape attempts and create a nurturing environment for your pets.
