To upgrade your workbench to level 2 in Hytale, you will require a total of 20 Iron Ingots and 30 Copper Ingots. Below is a guide on efficiently locating Iron and Copper within the game.

Locating Copper in Hytale

Copper can be discovered starting from a depth of 15 to 20 blocks. However, instead of aimlessly digging downwards, it is much more effective to explore pre-generated cavern openings. These entrances typically lead you into expansive cavern systems filled with pre-rendered biomes and ore nodes.

As you venture deeper into these caverns, your chances of finding Copper significantly increase. It’s advisable to carry torches to illuminate your surroundings. Once you’ve gathered a sufficient amount, crafting a Copper Pickaxe will greatly enhance your mining efficiency. Be wary of typical early-game threats such as rats, bats, and the occasional spider lurking in the shadows.

Copper isn’t extensively used in Hytale, so accumulating around 50 Ingots should suffice for the majority of your necessary upgrades and tool crafting. For your convenience, Copper can sometimes be found on the surface as well.

Discovering Iron in Hytale

Iron presents a greater challenge to locate, as you must delve to approximately 50 blocks deep for reliable finds. At this level, you may encounter formidable foes like Lava Golems, so it’s essential to equip yourself with the best armor and carry ample food. Additionally, maintain a healthy stock of torches to mark your path and navigate these dark caverns effectively. Each Iron block yields one Iron Ore.

Interestingly, caves situated further away from your spawn point and near more hazardous zones have a higher likelihood of revealing Iron blocks closer to the surface.

Processing Copper and Iron Ingots in Hytale

After collecting the respective Ores, you’ll need to smelt them into Ingots using a Furnace. Craft a Furnace from your workbench and combine the Ore with a fuel source such as Tree Bark or Sticks. Activate the Furnace, and watch as it converts your Ore into Ingots, ready to be used for upgrading your workbench or crafting essential gear and weapons.

Both Iron and Copper Ingots will serve you well in the early stages of Hytale. Be sure to explore additional gameplay features, such as customizing your appearance and inviting friends to join your adventures.
