Excitement is building for the upcoming release of Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, set to launch on November 14. Speculation has circulated about a potential early drop, either through a rescheduled full release or exclusive editions offering advance access. However, Activision has officially denied these rumors.
The buzz about an earlier launch began with a statement from popular streamer Scump. In a conversation following the release of Battlefield 6, he suggested the possibility of Black Ops 7 debuting a week ahead of schedule, pending the consideration of Activision.“Unless they release it early, which I have heard some rumors they were thinking of pushing the release date up a week, ”he noted.

Shortly thereafter, well-known leaker TheGhostOfHope took to X to share insights, suggesting that there seemed to be indications that the release date for Black Ops 7 could shift.“Seems like there’s some evidence of a potential release date change for Black Ops 7, ”he stated on October 20, although he expressed skepticism about the rumors.
Further fueling the anticipation, the Twitter account PlayStation Game Size, which tracks PlayStation data, reported that the Campaign and Zombies modes might become available on November 10, with multiplayer potentially launching on November 17. They cautioned that these details might vary, saying, “The size and release time may change, but these are the current listed details, ” on October 31.

Moreover, some players shared evidence from their consoles displaying an in-game counter indicating that players could access the game on October 10.
On November 1, Forbes, in an article discussing pre-order details, claimed that orders were now live across all platforms and highlighted that the Vault Edition would offer an early access opportunity starting on November 11. However, this information was quickly revised after conversations with Activision representatives.
Activision Clarifies Black Ops 7 Release Timeline
Despite the multitude of rumors and conjectures, Activision has confirmed, via CharlieIntel, that Black Ops 7 is set to release on Friday, November 14, and that early access will not be available.

Historically, early access has only occurred in 2022’s Modern Warfare 2 and 2023’s Modern Warfare 3, where players who digitally pre-ordered could access the campaign mode a week early. This practice was not applied to Black Ops 6, and Activision has confirmed its omission for Black Ops 7 as well.
