Director Hong Sang-soo (65) and actress Kim Min-hee (43) have collaborated once again on their latest work “Suyucheon,”which was unveiled by Young Cinema Production All-in-One on the 11th.
Director Hong’s 32nd film has been formally selected to participate in the 77th Locarno International Film Festival.
The Locarno Film Festival has been held in Locarno, Switzerland every year from August 7th to 17th since its establishment in 1946. It is widely recognized as one of the longest-running film festivals in the world and is known for its emphasis on showcasing auteur cinema.
Locarno has extended its invitation to Director Hong, who has previously attended with works such as “Our Sunhi,””Right Now, Wrong Then,”and “Hotel by the River.”
Despite a significant age gap of 22 years, Director Hong and Kim Min-hee confirmed their romantic relationship during a press conference for their film “On the Beach at Night Alone” on March 13, 2017. This news came as a surprise as Director Hong was already married with a wife and daughter at the time.
Despite his failed divorce trial on December 5th of that year, he remains married and continues to carry on an extramarital affair with Kim Min-hee.
Despite attending several official events together, there have also been times when they were seen separately, leading to speculation about a potential breakup. Nevertheless, it seems that they are still continuing their extramarital affair.
In February of last year, images of Director Hong and Kim Min-hee were shared on various online platforms, showing the two on a romantic outing in Paris. One photo captured Kim Min-hee placing a hat on Director Hong’s head while he gazed at her affectionately.
Just three days prior to the release of these photos, they were seen together at the 73rd Berlin International Film Festival.
Director Hong’s movie, “In the Water”, received an official invitation to be included in the Encounters section, while Kim Min-hee participated in the event as a production manager.
Director Hong and Kim Min-hee have also worked together on the film “Suyucheon.”
In photos from “Suyucheon,” Kim Min-hee maintained her slim figure while wearing oversized clothing. She had a natural look with a smile on her face, and actor Kwon Hae-hyo also joined the cast of this latest production.
