Is there a release date for Agatha?

Although no official date has been announced, Agatha is still expected to be released in late 2024.

Despite the recent WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes, Agatha is still expected to premiere in 2024, according to a report by Variety.

The series, which was previously titled Coven of Chaos, House of Harkness, and Darkhold Diaries, will now be referred to as Agatha.

Additionally, it is known that the show will consist of a total of nine episodes.

Patti LuPone, who stars as Agatha, reaffirmed the episode count in an interview with Vanity Fair. She revealed that all nine scripts were completed prior to filming.

Agatha: Who’s in the Cast and Are There Any New Characters?

Kathryn Hahn will reprise her role as Agatha, the titular witch. She will be accompanied by Emma Caulfield, who also starred in Wandavision as Sarah Proctor/Dottie Jones, the influential social figure in Westview.

In April 2023, Patti LuPone announced that she will be joining the MCU as the witch Lilia Calderu. During an appearance on The View, the renowned Broadway star shared details about her character and her co-stars.

According to the actress, she portrays Lilia Calderu, a member of a coven of witches in the Marvel world. She conducted research on her character and discovered that Lilia is described as attractive with a great physique and hair. She was initially unaware of the existence of witches in the Marvel world, but now understands that her character is part of a coven alongside Kathryn Hahn, Aubrey Plaza, and Joe Locke, who plays a Familiar known as Heartstopper.

Earlier reports stated that Joe Locke, known for his role in Heartstopper, had been selected for a role, sparking speculation that he could potentially portray an alternate iteration of Wanda’s son, Billy Maximoff, also known as Wiccan.

Similarly, Variety reported in November of last year that Aubrey Plaza will also be joining the MCU. However, instead of portraying a known character, Plaza will be taking on the role of an original character named Rio Vidal. According to rumors, Vidal will be a “green witch”and a previous associate of Agatha.

This marks Plaza’s debut in a major comic book project. The actress, renowned for her deadpan comedic style and most recognized for her portrayal of April Ludgate on Parks and Recreation, is no stranger to working with Hahn as the two previously collaborated on the hit show.

In addition, Sasheer Zamata, known for her role in Saturday Night Live, has been added to the cast as Sorceress Jennifer Kale.

Along with these new inclusions, it has been confirmed by Deadline that Debra Jo Rupp, known for her role as Mrs. Hart in WandaVision, will also make an appearance in Agatha.

Are there plot details for Agatha: Coven of Chaos?

At the moment, there is no information available about Agatha. However, Marvel previously announced that the show, titled Agatha: House of Harkness, will delve deeper into the character first introduced in WandaVision.

The writer and executive producer of WandaVision, Jac Schaefer, will also be leading the new series Agatha: House of Harkness. It is advised to keep all dogs named Sparky out of sight.

At the time of writing, there are no additional plot details confirmed. In WandaVision, it was revealed that she was the source of Wanda’s suffering and had control over her realities in Westview. She was drawn to Wanda’s immense power and desired to claim it for herself. Agnes, the nosy neighbor, was her last known appearance, as she was sentenced to live out the remainder of her life trapped in her own body. It is probable that we will see her attempting to break free from her imprisonment.

According to a report by The Illuminerdi, Agatha in the upcoming series “Agatha”will continue directly after the events of WandaVision and be set in Westview. It is said that Agatha will be released from Wanda’s spell by a new Coven of Witches, with reports suggesting that Aubrey Plaza will be among them.

Fans of WandaVision are eagerly anticipating the musical aspect of Agatha’s character in the upcoming show. The popular “Agatha All Along”tune from WandaVision has already topped the charts and become a fan favorite. Luckily, it seems that this trend will continue in the new show, as Hahn has hinted that Agatha may have multiple new songs that will surely get stuck in viewers’ heads.

Additionally, set photos have revealed that there will be references to other Disney properties, including The Princess Diaries, incorporated into the story.

Is Scarlet Witch Appearing in Agatha?

Despite much speculation, it remains uncertain if Elizabeth Olsen will reprise her role as Scarlet Witch in the upcoming series. In a recent interview with Deadline, the actress was probed about her potential return to the MCU, to which she responded, “I don’t know how to answer these questions, but I believe I will return.”

Despite the limited information, it is not surprising that Olsen is not willing to reveal any details about her future in the MCU, as the franchise is known for being secretive about upcoming projects. Rest assured, we will keep you informed if any news or confirmation regarding Olsen’s role in the MCU is announced.

Marvel has yet to confirm the accuracy of these plot details, so be sure to check back here for any updates on what we can expect from the show’s plot.
