In a startling incident reported on August 3 at approximately 2:10 a.m., former AKB48 idol Murayama Ayaka became the target of a disturbing online threat. An individual, identified as Murata, allegedly posted a message on an online forum that read, “I’m going to massacre you, so look forward to it.” Authorities quickly traced the message back to Murata’s IP address, leading to his arrest on charges related to making death threats.

This is not the first time Murata has been accused of threatening Murayama. In July 2024, he was arrested by the Osaka Prefectural Police for a similar offense, resulting in a six-month prison sentence that was ultimately suspended. Despite this leniency, it appears he has once again acted on his violent tendencies while still under this suspended sentence.
During a police interrogation, Murata reportedly claimed his actions were impulsive, driven by anger stemming from derogatory online comments related to his prior arrest. This troubling pattern of behavior raises significant concerns about public safety and the well-being of individuals in the entertainment industry.
Murayama Ayaka, who first joined AKB48 as a trainee (kenkyuusei) in 2011, officially graduated from the popular group on June 15, 2025, following a well-attended concert in Tokyo.

In response to this alarming incident, Murayama’s agency, Avex, released a statement emphasizing their commitment to artist safety:
“We strive to create an environment where artists and talents can work safely and securely, and if similar incidents occur in the future, we will take firm and strict action.”
The police investigation is ongoing, and Murata may face a prison sentence without the possibility of suspension this time around, underscoring the serious implications of his actions.
