Remedy Entertainment is continuing to enhance the gaming experience of Alan Wake 2 with post-launch downloadable content (DLC), including exciting expansions like Night Springs and The Lake House.
Players made their long-awaited return to Bright Falls when Alan Wake 2 officially launched in October 2023. As the titular character finds himself trapped in the Dark Place, FBI agent Saga Anderson embarks on a mission to uncover a mystery surrounding the missing writer.
Following the conclusion of this gripping experience, players may be curious about the game’s current and upcoming DLC offerings. Fortunately, the developers have shared their visionary long-term plans.
Here’s everything we know about the DLC expansions and additional content for Alan Wake 2.
Free Updates for Alan Wake 2
Remedy began deploying free updates in late 2023, starting with the New Game Plus mode launched on December 11. Titled The Final Draft, this mode introduced a new ending and additional lore for players to discover.
A highly anticipated Photo Mode was released a few months later in June 2024, allowing players to capture their adventures in stunning detail.
Paid Expansions for Alan Wake 2
The studio revealed two paid expansions coinciding with the launch of Alan Wake 2. The first, Night Springs, is accompanied by a second expansion known as The Lake House.
Importantly, players who purchase the Deluxe Edition of the game ($79.99) will receive access to the Expansion Pass, which includes both Night Springs and The Lake House.
Night Springs
Night Springs comprises three distinctive episodes, allowing players to take control of different characters. In Episode 1, titled Number One Fan, a character named “Rose” defends the honor of the Author.
The second episode, North Star, features Jesse Faden from Control navigating through a surreal setting known as Coffee World.
In the final episode, Time Breaker, Sheriff Tim Breaker from Bright Falls encounters a series of intriguing situations.
The Lake House
As depicted in Alan Wake 2, the Lake House is an enigmatic facility located just beyond the shores of Cauldron Lake. This facility was established by the Federal Bureau of Control to conduct secret experiments, but things have taken a dark turn.
According to Remedy, players will delve into the Lake House and undertake two distinct adventures, where the realities of Saga Anderson and Alan Wake once again intersect.
The September 2024 PlayStation State of Play event showcased a sneak peek at this upcoming expansion, which is set to be released across all platforms on an undisclosed date in October.
