The individual accused of stalking Apink’s Jung Eunji is undergoing trial.

The appeal trial for a woman in her 50s, who has been accused of stalking Apink member and actress Jung Eunji for several years, is scheduled to resume in July of this year.

On June 7, 2024, legal sources have revealed that the first trial for Ms. A, a woman in her fifties who was charged with violating the Act on the Punishment of Stalking Crimes and other related laws on July 9, will be held at the Seoul Central District Court.

In the initial trial, Ms. A received a one-year prison sentence and two years of probation. She was also required to pay a 100,000 won fine and complete 120 hours of community service, as well as 40 hours of stalking crime prevention education while under protective supervision.

Ms. A was charged with sending a total of 544 text messages to Jung Eunji, beginning in March 2020, with messages such as “Will you accept me as your servant, your companion?”

Furthermore, during May 2020, she faced allegations of trailing Jung Eunji’s car from the KBS headquarters to a hair and makeup salon in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, while riding her motorcycle.

In July 2021, the woman was also discovered lurking near the entrance of Jung Eunji’s apartment.

The initial trial court declared that the defendant’s messages to the victim went beyond what a fan would typically express to a favorite celebrity, showing support, interest, and affection.
