Apple’s AI-powered Safari browser could let you delete ads from any website

According to reports, Apple is developing an updated version of the Safari browser that will utilize AI technology to display a reduced number of advertisements. The release of this browser is anticipated to occur during this year’s WWDC.

According to sources, Apple is currently developing a new version of Safari, known as Safari 18, which will utilize AI technology. The browser is expected to be revealed at WWDC in June 2024, and is currently undergoing internal testing along with other projects such as iOS 18 and macOS 15.

According to the report from Apple Insider, Safari 18 may utilize on-device AI processors to introduce a variety of new features, such as a quick summarization function powered by Apple’s LLM. However, users will need to enable this feature manually.

A feature named “Web Eraser”is reportedly in the testing phase, giving users the ability to delete specific sections of web pages, including advertisements.

According to reports, Safari will continue to remember any sections that you have deleted, even if you open a new session on the browser. The removed section will remain hidden unless you make changes to your settings or encounter new content.

The main concept behind implementing this feature is to provide users with increased control over the content they view while also decreasing the frequency of advertisements. This may be a more intricate approach compared to other web browsers. In addition to these updates, there will also be a competitor to Google Lens and a few modifications to Apple’s default browser. The exact release date is yet to be announced, but it is expected to be revealed at WWDC.
